Team Lead - OSP/DAS Construction

Our client, a leading provider of Wireless Telecommunications Services, is seeking a Team Lead - OSP/DAS Construction to run a team of Implementation Field Technicians who will deploy Wireless/RF, Networks, Cabling and Infrastructure packages throughout the metro and suburban NY/NJ region.  This  role requires regular presence at field locations, as well as the firm’s regional office in the NYC region.  This is not a full-time WFH role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a great opportunity for candidates currently in hands-technical staff roles to move into a Team Lead, Supervisory or Construction Management role.
 

The role will Manage, coach and develop entire field operations team in various core disciplines, such as building network cabinets, MDF, wiring, cabling, router configuration, wireless and network equipment installation and maintenance.

Coordinate and direct all aspects of field operations for the Greater NY-NJ region.

Maintain solid network performance and stability while meeting all SLA (Service Level

Agreements) for Installations, Implementation, MTTR and Network Availability.

Implement and utilize various operational measurement metrics to maintain robust network following industry standards of operational excellence.

Focus upon employee skill development and career growth.

Ensure all field operations employees are trained and qualified with new technology deployments.

Maintained open communication channels with internal cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Drive and track the installation schedule for all service orders received.

Work with Service Delivery Project Management teams on developing planned activities involving installation.

Manage inventory control and manage the Logistics of equipment delivery and installation.

Supervise personnel assigned responsibility for the installation for customers / network Infrastructure.

Ensure timely and accurate transaction of materials going through Inventory and sub-inventories.

Maintain consistent practices and cycle counting to ensure accurate inventory.

Ensure timely response to any and all issues or questions that other departments may have regarding materials transactions.

Work with the Network Operation Center (NOC), Engineering and QA teams to resolve service outages.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Strong hands-on technical, construction and site management skills in the following areas are strongly suggested for success in this role.
 

  • Fiber Splicing and Construction
  • Fixed Wireless (Antenna, DAS, Wifi)
  • DC power

Minimum of 6-8 years’ management experience in the wireless, networking or telecommunication industry, preferably in network operations or field engineering.

Experience in deployment of networks in MDUs and Commercial buildings essential.

Experience in Low Voltage electric, structured cabling and/or wireless antenna deployment (such as DAS, WLAN, Wifi, etc.) highly desired.

Demonstrated leadership abilities working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Strong sense of urgency during service outages.

Individual must be highly collaborative and demonstrate strong interpersonal and team building

Strong organization skills.

Bachelor’s degree a plus.
