Outside Plant Engineer (OSP)
Our client, a leading broadband network service provider, is seeking several experienced Outside Plant Engineers to work on the design, planning and construction of Outside Plant systems serving a greenfield market expansion in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley region.
Please note this is a hybrid position at the client’s New York Mid-Hudson Valley regional office. You will be expected to be in the firm's HQ and other regional offices regularly, as well as traveling locally to customer sites for meetings and deployments.
The position requires daily presence in the region and is NOT a 100% WFH role.
Please note there is no relocation or work permit/ VISA support offered.
Candidates must be US Citizen or Green Card holder to be considered for the role.
The main Network Construction & Expansion project will be located in Ulster County, NY and will require frequent trips into the field for site surveys, meetings and inspections. Candidates should be prepared to work at the HQ location several days per week and work in the field on a sometimes irregular and extended basis.
Work closely with the firm’s Project Managers and PMO. Experience with project scheduling, estimating and project management software desirable
Responsibilities
The Outside Plant Engineer will use their technical and planning skills to support Project Managers on multiple projects in all aspects of the construction process, from estimating the project to managing the project. The candidate's ability to successfully work as part of a project team and to support multiple jobs at one time are key.
Collaborate with internal and external teams, including access platform & equipment vendors particularly GPON vendors such as Adtran and others.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements

Candidate will have 5-7+ years of experience in OSP engineering design and construction of all OSP communications facilities including aerial and direct buried cable, both fiber optic and copper and underground conduit.

The successful candidate will have the capability of completing assignments for an entire engineer project; Fielding staking, detail engineering drawings and final approved projects.

Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also a requirement. Proficient Microsoft Office productivity suite skills a must.

Must have knowledge of Optical Networking including DWDM, PON, GPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON and other passive optical network technologies.

Experience with provisioning, implementation and configuration of FTTH/FTTX technologies strongly preferred
