Field Operations Manager - AV/IT Integration

Our client, a leading systems integrator of audiovisual, videoconferencing systems, and electronic security is actively seeking a Field Operations Manager who will manage the remote customer support, onsite managed services and installations teams’ activity.

This role requires a non-negotiable hybrid WorkStyle:  REQUIRED In-Office presence in WFH/Virtual office, and regular travel to client sites in the NJ/NY region.

Responsibilities:

The Field Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for all resources on a given client site, including staff, third-party partners, subcontractors, budget, logistics and materials.    Knowledge of AV/IT and related-industry best practices are essential to success in this role.

Candidates with experience managing Customer support teams in the Telecoms, Network, IT, CCTV/Security video or other related market are encourage to apply.

  • Interact with client management and technical staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Quality Control: Oversee and maintain the firm's Installation standards
  • Review project statement of work and system documentation
  • Direct and manage multiple technician teams
  • Create and manage technician schedules
  • Review and approve technician time sheets 
  • Create and update daily project reports for project team
  • Coordinate equipment delivery to the various project locations
  • Attend internal and external project meetings as required
  • Validate installation completion and obtain project delivery sign-off from the client.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer or telecommunications engineering DESIRED
  • In the absence of a formal degree, 7 years of progressively responsible, directly applicable experience in which incumbent learned to perform the requirements of the position may be substituted.
  • Past Proficiency in running a project site, installs and leading a crew of technicians.
  • Familiar with commercial construction environment, ability to read architectural drawings a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work effectively across cross-functional lines, in coordination with others involved in technical services
  • Manage projects, including setting objectives, and observing deadlines.
  • Outstanding people skills, High ethical standards and work ethic, and solid communications skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

PAST EXPERIENCE IN HANDS-ON TECHNICAL ROLES TO BE SUPERVISED ESSENTIAL.

Candidates must have prior experience completing technical installation of audiovisual systems, including equipment rack fabrication, site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment, and implementation

Current knowledge of SOME (Not All) of the various technical domains essential to success in this role:  AV, IT, Telecoms, Networks, Security video and access control.
