Business Analyst - Telecoms Applications & Processes
Our client, a leading Telecoms Service Provider, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to manage, design and optimize critical business processes and the IT applications and ecosystems that support them. This firm has just acquired a competitor and Business Analyst will be at the forefront of the integration of the two business units. This is a high-profile, high-tempo role that requires a Telecom Industry veteran who has a strong grasp on the telecom OSS/BSS applications ecosystems, business processes related to network service delivery and network service provisioning.
SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for working with functional and cross functional groups within the firm and with business partners to create, manage, execute and optimize applications to achieve further operational efficiencies and drive benefits, e.g. economies of scale, etc.
The Business Analyst will collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders to gather, define and document the functional requirements, and communicate those requirements to IT, Applications and external software vendors and consulting groups. The Business Analyst will own certain project management duties, such as reporting scheduling, budget, and status updates to various levels of BU- and department-level management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for managing the development and implementation of complex new programs, systems, and processes to improve profitability, reduce costs, streamline operations, and enhance customer service, service delivery and drive KPIs to goal.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities by analyzing current business processes.
- Develop written and visual depictions of requirements and process workflows.
- Work with stakeholders, IT and business unit groups and management, to drive execution of business transformational changes with regard to processes, efficiencies, profitability.
- Work with internal team on complex process improvement, strategy implementation, performance management and other projects with department wide impact .
- Manage and drive development of project scope, schedule, project reports, facilitation, communications and presentations to cross functional departments.
- Run project meetings, develop agenda, manage note-taking & task distribution, build and manage resources to fulfill project goals, expectations and company vision.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and Skills Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
2-3 years working for Telecommunications service provider.
Strong knowledge of service provider (“carrier”, “telco”) internal process, structure, terminology, and technology trends and markets. Some knowledge of Telecoms regulations helpful.
3-5 years process business analyst, SDLC project manager, service delivery manager or related experience.
Preference for role in developing and leading software development (SDLC) projects and creating functional and design specifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML), Microsoft Project, MS Vizio or similar development and project management tools.
