AV Project Engineer - Residential AV Integration - MA/NH Region
Our client, a manufacturer and leading integrator of video, voice and data systems is seeking a AV Project Engineer, located in the Boston, MA/NH metro region who will assist in the detail engineering for Residential AV Integration projects. This is an onsite position and requires presence in local sales office as well as limited travel to client sites (5-10%).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a current knowledge of the Audiovisual, VTC, Networking products and services offerings.
- Provide consultation to Project Management team to support installation activities
- Support and docuement sales proposals
- Manage and Execute sales and project documentation, such as Bill of Materials
- (BOM), RFP Responses, Pricing Documents and Scopes of Works (SOW)
- Responsible for Site Surveys, Systems Design, Line Drawings, Detail Engineering plans, and other sales and design related materials
- Develop and maintain communications with all levels of staff and customers, ranging from line managers to corporate presidents
- Using a consultative style, advise customers on how to best utilize company products
- Manage technical relationships between the client, firm, technology vendors and distributors
- Assist clients with feasibility studies, equipment budgets, systems requirements and specifications
- Work effectively across cross-functional lines, in coordination with others involved in marketing, sales, logistics, technical services
- Manage projects, including setting objectives, budgeting and observing deadlines
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor degree in electrical, computer or telecommunications engineering desired, not required
- In the absence of a formal degree, 5-7 years of progressively responsible, directly applicable experience in which incumbent learned to perform the requirements of the position may be substituted
- 5-7+ years of experience in a sales support and design/ project engineering, preferably with a leading Systems Integrator of Audiovisual , VTC, Networks. Experience with other residential systems, such as CCTV, Access Control, Electrical/ Structured Cabling, Wifi, lighting, shading a plus=
- Professional communication, project management and documentation skills a must
- AVIXA/ InfoComm (ICIA) CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D certifications desired, not required Other industry certification such as DMC-E, EAVA,CVE, ACE also helpful
- Knowledge of drawing programs (AutoCAD/Visio) Required
- Knowledge of AV Signal Flow Required
- Experience with project development design and documentation experience is preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use and integration of AV equipment, as well as in the installation of said equipment
