Sales Engineer - FEDERAL
Our client, a leading provider of data center management and application monitoring solutions, is seeking a Sales Engineer – FEDERAL for its nationwide sales support team. Candidates with strong technical background in application, systems and network performance, and virtualization practices are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether you have performed in the Pre-Sales role before.
Current openings are available in the following locations: Federal sales region, including Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
This position require 25-30% travel regionally, and candidates should be within one hour’ s commute of a major metropolitan airport
Sales Engineers are responsible for support the sales of our client’ s product to enterprise, service provider and government accounts, as well as preparing the implementation plan for each client, including customization, configuration and legacy data migration services.
Technical Demonstration of product capabilities and features.
Assist sales and sales management to close business and achieve revenue and other business goals.
Presentation of business case, products and service solutions to prospects and clients, including technical and non-technical business unit managers.
Develop and enable Proof of Concepts (POCs) with prospects with goal of demonstrating value, leading to sales and customer satisfaction.
Work on responses to RFP/RFIs.
Present and Demonstrate the firm’ s product and service offerings, to further adoption in all aspects of clients’ and prospects’ data center operations, systems and applications performance optimization efforts.
Answer customer technical questions and build company’ s technical knowledgebase
Participating in sales calls, conduct webinars, live demos and user training.
Consult with clients to assess, capture and plan to meet their business and technical goals
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
Bachelor’ s degree, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years pre-sales, professional services, implementation or consulting experience.
3+ years enterprise systems, architecture, design including databases, domains, applications.
Essential: Strong knowledge of virtualization, networking and servers.
Essential: Direct knowledge of Citrix and VMWare products
Strong understanding of application, systems and network performance, application tuning and architecture best practices.
Helpful: Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Containers, enterprise security.
Helpful: Knowledge of Multiple operating systems, including various Windows deployments.
Helpful: Technical Training or Vendor certifications from the following tech firms
Cisco, VMWare, Microsoft, Citrix.
