Solutions Architect - Virtual Office - Southeast US

Our client, a leading vendor of Network Security Solutions  is seeking a Solutions Architect supporting its Southeast US region.    This is a virtual office role, based in  Alabama - Mississippi - Louisiana - Georgia region

This position requires frequent (40-50%) travel to customer sites, technology partners and industry events.   The virtual office should be located anywhere with one hour of a major metro airport in the  Southeast US region.

Our client needs a winner in this position who is ready to bite off a big chunk, engage with their global clients and win   the firm' s largest, strategic deals.   This role requires around 40-50% travel, both domestic and overseas.   This role will work as an overlay, interacting with sales and pre-sales teams, channel partners and client/prospect management.
The SA will function as a central technical resource on complex security technical issues  for the sales, pre-sales and professional services teams.


As a Solutions Architect, you will provide customer facing services in the areas of project/solution definition.   You will augment the expertise and deal-making capacity of the  in-house sales  and pre-sales teams, as a go-to expert  in the areas of Security problem discovery,  solutions design and enterprise selling.

This position will require 40-50% travel.   Candidates should live within one hour of a major airport in the Texas market.

Education, Experience and Skills requirements:

A candidate for the Solutions Architect position must excel at all aspects of the pre-sales game, including demos, presentations to technical and non-technical audiences, as well as post-sales, hands-on support of evaluations/proof of concept installations. The Solutions Architect will represent  the company in their newest emerging technology opportunities.   Excellent technical skills in a variety of domains (Cloud, Security, Virtualization, Data Center, DDOS) and experience in the design, integration and testing  of complex large scale network   projects are a must.

In depth knowledge and understanding of information technology security concepts and principles.

5-7 years of experience with a security vendor or integrator on  solution definition, documentation, and delivery techniques

Excellent  written and verbal communication

Must be a high-performance, low-maintenance individual with strong curiosity, initiative and a bias for action.     Highly-productive on individual tasks and projects, and performs well on projects  in a distributed team setting.

Security Expertise essential

- Expert in network security and design -

- Expert in advising clients on  best security  practices and methodologies.

Strong networking skills, including  TCP/IP, Routing protocols, Network Security, Pen-testing.

Expertise in LAN/WAN and mobile infrastructure.

Expertise in service provider architecture, operations and infrastructure desirable

Expert in detecting and resolving advanced threats such as DoS, DDoS, and WPO.
