Sales Engineer

Our client is a leading global provider of communication products and services, and designs, develops and markets systems and software for video, voice and data is seeking a Sales Engineer, focused on Unified Communications and Videoconferencing, located in the Greater Washington DC, VA/MD region, handling Enterprise accounts.

Responsibilities

Support sales team in proposal, presentation and closing phases of sales.  Work with deployment teams in ensure success of projects and customer satisfaction.

• In conjunction with sales team, develop and deliver sales presentations

• Using a consultative style, advise customers on how to best utilize company products

• Provide technical consultancy to augment the sales effort for company and client demonstrations, as well as advising customers on how best to utilize company products

• Perform pre/post sales activities which may include consulting, training, and other forms of customer/client involvement.

• Design and implement end-to-end networks for the deployment of video, voice and data solutions.

• Travel as necessary to visit customer sites, company offices, and other work environments.

 

Education, Experience and Skills requirements

Bachelor degree in technical domain, or equivalent experience desired.

3-5 years’ experience working as sales engineer, solutions architect, servicer delivery or professional services engineer.

Public speaking and presentation abilities, with a focus on presenting technical information to those with a non-technical background, including excellent active listening skills

Must be able to present technical and non-technical information clearly and in a compelling manner.

Experience working with videoconferencing vendors helpful: cisco, Tandberg, Polycom, Lifesize, Vidyo, Pexip, Acano.

• Experience working with Unified Communications vendors helpful: Microsoft Skype for Business (fka Lync), MS  Office365, cisco, Avaya, Siemens, Polycom helpful.

Candidates should have diverse technical knowledge, including some of the following:

• IP, Cisco IOS, switching and routing protocols (TCP/IP, TCP, UDP, RTP, Etc…)

• Design experience with emerging technologies, such as VOIP

• Knowledge of signaling protocols and standards: RTP, DTMF, TDM, SIP, SIMPLE, H.320, H.323, H.264, VP8

• Experience with messaging and videoconferencing systems

• Certifications helpful: CTS, CTS-D, DMC-E, EAVA, CVE, ACE, CCNx, CCDx, CCIE, ** CCNA VOICE **
