Project Manager - Audiovisual, Chicago


Our client, a leading provider of AV Integration and is seeking a Project Manager for its metro Chicago  region.  


This is a customer-facing technology deployment services role, with extensive interaction with  clients, internal stakeholders, and third party reseller and technology partners.   


Expect regular travel to customer sites in Chicagoland region.


Scope of Position:


The Project Manager will build out a strong, resilient set of processes, systems, applications and documentation procedures that will ensure that best practices are used in all aspects of installation, service delivery and customer service organization. Our client is expanding rapidly and is striving to maintain quality, on-time, on-budget service to highly demanding clients.


Build and improve firm’ s current project management systems, processes and tools.


Build dashboards, KPIs and metrics to measure and improve performance.


Plan interim timetables to ensure teams on the projects remain on schedule.


Run reports, generate documents and forms, and provide quality control.


Keep a close connection with clients and customers and understand the with the team members of the project.


Aggressively update, document and record all backlogged entries.


Schedule and organize meetings, manage changes, document release dates, and checklists.


Manage all stakeholders in a given project team and its vendors.


Communicate all changes and maintain an effective communication on all professional levels.


Present oral/written reports and project presentations


Meet the requirements of team working on the project, perform other duties and assist coworkers when needed or when assigned.


Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions


Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs


Travel is necessary when required.


Must be a proactive and customer-centric interface between the client and the company, while ensuring that internal customers, technical staff and upper management are kept aware of project status, issues and escalations.


Plan, estimate and organize overall implementation of our client’ s products while being applied in client environments.


Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications:


Bachelor’ s Degree in computer science or related fields preferred. Equivalent experience also acceptable.


5+ years of experience in project management preferred.


5+ years of experience managing complex AV/IT/VTC or Telecoms/Network projects.


3+ years of experience in related areas, such electrical systems (low-voltage sub-systems)  structured cabling & wiring requirements.



Direct knowledge of Audio and Video signal flow, and control systems very helpful.


Must have strong financial analysis skills. Extensive spreadsheet experience (MS Excel)


Experience in creating and executing customer quality and success materials, such as checklists and procedures.


Must have exceptional written and oral communication .


Excellent time management skills.


Ability to work individually and as a team player.


Must have strong decision making skills and a problem solver.


Independent and proactive mentality


Experience creating and using GANTT Charts.


Must be able to understand critical path of projects, project flow, process planning, implementation and control.
