The Network Operation Center Specialist will be responsible for providing troubleshooting and network support for an Ethernet and VoIP network. This position will be located in the 7x24 Network Operations Center (NOC) and will be responsible for performing network surveillance of VoIP, IP Routing and carrier Ethernet collocations. Utilizing the network operational support systems, and other network test equipment, the NOC Specialist will test, diagnose, locate faults, and resolve network issues directly and or coordinate with higher tier technical support for resolution. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the dispatch of outside vendors for on-site support and the physical repair of network equipment.
These positions afer located in Northern NJ and are for full-time, direct-hire employment. NOT A CONTRACT.

In addition to network maintenance and repair, the Network Operation Center Specialist will also perform network provisioning and customer change management. The position requires strong knowledge of IP, VoIP and Ethernet networking equipment.
Monitor and provide support for all IP Routing, VoIP and Ethernet equipment and related transport, where applicable.
Open and track trouble tickets and provisioning requests to resolution.
Ability to perform logical provisioning of circuits and manage customer requested changes in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform routine maintenance, configuration and installation on routing and switching equipment
Perform proactive management of the network to mitigate faults and deliver to maintain a high level of network reliability and availability.
Perform initial problem analysis and triage to escalate tickets to the appropriate groups when necessary.
Serve as liaison with service provider customers to coordinate problems until resolution is reached.
Interface with other departments and work groups on a daily basis including Engineering, IT, and vendor support.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime and on-call rotation, as required.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
5-7+ years working in a network operations work environment, preferably in service provider (telco/carrier) NOC.
Direct hands-on experience with routing and switching networking technologies such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, QOS, MPLS, etc. Knowledge of IP PBX technologies from various vendors (e.g. Shoretel, Asterisk, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Cisco Call Manager
Direct, hands-on knowledge of IP PBX configuration, call routing & translations, and SIP trunking implementations.
Configuration of layer 2/layer 3 switching & routing networks supporting VoIP architectures
Strong conceptual and hands-on knowledge of QOS
3-5 year direct experience installing and troubleshooting voice and data services such as T1, Ethernet, POTS, PRI, SIP.
Knowledge of and experience in Voice over IP (VoIP) protocols.
Industry vendor and technology certifications (such as CCNA, CCDP, CCNP) preferred.Ability to use Network (IP, VoIP, Ethernet) test equipment and other diagnostic tools, such as Centest.
Participate in flexible work schedule 24X7, and standby rotation.
